The family ran into this black bear in the Chisos Mountains of Big Bend. We actually sought out this bear who had been seen roaming the outskirts of one of the campgrounds. All of the us including the kids were able to experience this. I wish this population of black bears well. It is a small population and hurting even more so now because of the extreme drought in the Big Bend region. I had my birding lens attached to my camera without time to change lenses so it was tough to get the whole bear in frame.
