This is a gallery featuring mostly what one would call game birds, but the cuckoos and greater roadrunners do not really fit that category. Although, this is where they ended up. I'm sure they do not mind.

Stephen > This capture of a yellow-billed cuckoo came out soft, but I was hand holding a 500mm lens and these birds, at least this one, was in no mood to be photographed so I have to accept what I have. This was photographed at Laguna Atascosa NWR near Rio Hondo, Texas, June 2007.
Stephen > In a large field, I came across this greater roadrunner feeding on insects it was catching in the grass. Midlothian, Texas, April 2008.
Stephen > I watched a pair of greater roadrunners run across a road. When I pulled up to where I though they entered the brush, I found this one keeping a wary eye on the happenings around it. This was froze as I watched it. Midlothian, Texas, April 2008.
