As the title suggests these are some different photographs of sparrows, finches and just a few swallows shot mainly around my home but a few are from out of town.

Stephen > Staying relatively high and far away from the main perches at this blind at the Martin Refuge, the lesser goldfinch tried to make itself as inconspicuous as possible, but I need manage to find it in my viewfinder for this image. This is almost a 50% crop of full frame and I used flash for fill. It was located in under a canopy of leaves. Edinburg, Texas, June 2008
Stephen > This lesser goldfinch would not come out of the leaves and branches for seed or water at the first blind at which I spent time while visiting the Martin Refuge. Consequently, I took this image of the goldfinch hiding among some branches. It was quite difficult to get a clean shot, but after rearranging my gear and a few moves on the part of the subject, I was able to get this photo. Edinburg, Texas, June 2008
Stephen > I found this American Goldfinch near a local pond. I do not see this species much so I was excited to be able to get this photograph. Midlothian, Texas, December 2007.
Stephen > This American Goldfinch was working its way around this limb. I grabbed this image has it was peaking its head over the branch. Midlothian, Texas, January 2008.
Stephen > This is another image of the goldfinches that were in my area near a local pond. Midlothian, Texas, December 2007.
Stephen > This American Goldfinch was photographed at the top of a tree as it fed on the seeds it found high in the tree. Midlothian, Texas, January 2008.
Stephen > I wanted to get a closer look at these American Goldfinches I had found near a local pond. Unfortantely, they were deep in a thicket of woods. I climbed in the thicket to get this photo, Midlothian, Texas, Dec. 2007.
Stephen > I am not a big fan of feeder shots, but since these goldfinches are not frequent visitors to my yard, I will take what I can get. This one came visiting for just one day in March of 2008, Midlothian, Texas.
Stephen > It's nice when you find multiple species on the same bush or tree. Here I found two savannah sparrows sharing these branches with a lark sparrow and a male house finch. Midlothian, Texas, April 2008.
