Stephen > I wish the angle were not as steep but at least the shot is clean. This savannah sparrow took some time to perch at the top of a juniper tree. It let me get about this close before giving its typical peeping sound and darting away. Midlothian, Texas, March 2008.
Stephen > This was just one of the many savannah sparrows that I find regularly in the field next to my house. This one was perched on some limestone rocks that had been excavated for a road that is going to be put on the land. Midlothian, Texas, March 2008.
Stephen > The Savannah Sparrows have been gathering in large flocks around my house lately. They do not stay put for a long time, but this one gave me a few seconds before flying off once again, Midlothian, Texas, March 2008.
Stephen > The pasture next to my house is just crawling with different types of sparrows. This is one of the many savannah sparrows that I found foraging in the pasture. Midlothian, Texas, April 2008.
