As the title suggests these are some different photographs of sparrows, finches and just a few swallows shot mainly around my home but a few are from out of town.

Stephen > This little one represents the first Lark Sparrow I observed for the 2008 year. Midlothian, Texas, March 2008
Stephen > This is one of the many lark sparrows in my area in the summer. This one was foraging around for insects on the ground. I was laying down in the grass when I took this picture. Midlothian, Texas, September 2007.
Stephen > I found this lark sparrow on a barbed wire fence preening near some farmland. Those are bluebonnets in the background. Midlothian, Texas, April 2008.
Stephen > While watching birds at my feeder, I noticed this white crowned sparrow perched nicely in one of my live oaks. I wish the background was a bit cleaner but I like the perch. Midlothian, Texas, April 2008.
Stephen > Once again, I find the white crowned sparrow in a mess of branches, but at least I have some eye contact and a good view of the crown. Midlothian, Texas, December 2007.
Stephen > I seem to have a tough time finding clean shots of white crowned sparrows. It appears that they love to fly around the thick brush at the edges of pastures in my area. I found this one in December 2007, Midlothian, Texas.
Stephen > This white crowned sparrow simply refused to get out from behind the branches, but at the very least, one can plainly see that it is, in fact, a white crowned sparrow, a winter migrant to my area. Midlothian, Texas, December 2007.
Stephen > This white crowned sparrow gave me about as clear a picture as I have been able to get of this species lately. I took this in the evening light. Midlothian, Texas, March 2008.
Stephen > Just another white crowned sparrow foraging on the ground for seeds in our garden. Midlothian, Texas, April 2008.
Once again, I find the white crowned sparrow in a mess of branches, but at least I have some eye contact and a good view of the crown. Midlothian, Texas, December 2007.
