This is collection of images of the varied turtles and tortoises that I have seen. I never realized the variety of sea turtles that the Gulf of Mexico has. Many thanks go to the good people at Sea Turtle, Inc on South Padre Island, Texas. They continue to educate people about the plight of sea turtles that frequent the waters of the United States and beyond.

Stephen > After having the water rush over its little body, this Kemp Ridley's sea turtle found itself stuck in the sand. The next set of waves took it out though. South Padre Island, Texas, June 2008
Stephen > On South Padre Island there is a wonderful organization, Sea Turtles, Inc., that cares for endangered sea turtles, especially the ones that nest on or near South Padre Island. This is one from the tanks on the premises. It's eating a piece of lettuce that one of my kids threw into the tank. South Padre Island, June 2007
Stephen > While visiting the jetties on South Padre Island, we were lucky enough to also see quite a few green sea turtles feeding in the gentle surf. South Padre Island, June 2008
