This is a collection of other shorebirds other than herons or egrets. This also includes certain sandpipers that prefer prairies and meadows to the coastal areas plus kingfishers who really are not considered shorebirds but they are exclusively found near water.
Taken from a boat in the Gulf Intracoastal Highway just off the shoreline of Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, I found this juvenile White Ibis along with a juvenile Little Blue Heron and a Roseatte Spoonbill all foraging in the low tide. November 2007 near Rockport, Texas
