This red tailed hawk had just finished eating something on the ground when it flew up to this perch. I took this picture right at sunset. Midlothian, January 2009

This is a popular perch for this red-tailed hawk. I can see her on this perch everyday usually in the mornings. This dead tree is located on a tree line surrounded by pasture to the east, more pasture and wooded areas to the west and a major parkway going through the middle. Luckily by this perch there is small shoulder where pulled over to take this picture. Midlothian, Texas, May 2010

Esta a una percha popular para este gavilán colirrojo. Puedo ver esta hembra todos los días en esta misma percha usualmente en las mañanas. Este árbol muerto está en una línea de árboles que delimitan diferentes pastos. Al este hay pastos. Al oeste hay pastos y más áreas boscosas con un camino que pasa por el medio. Afortunadamente hay un acotamiento en el que me pude detener para tomar esta foto. Midlothian, Texas, Mayo 2010
