This is simply a collection of different raptors that I have photographed from in and around my local area and the state of Texas. I had never really realized that there were so many different birds of prey in Texas ranging from the small American Kestrel to the Bald Eagle.
For the second year in row I have found a red tailed hawk using this dead tree as a perch. I also drive through this area quite often with my camera so you would think they hawks and other birds would get used to me. This is not the case. Within four shutter clicks, it took off. Just outside Midlothian, Texas, January 2009
